Kind of the whole reason we are doing all of this out here: the park. While we love the towns that make up the area around Joshua Tree (including Yucca Valley, where our venue is, as well as Pioneertown, 29 Palms, etc.), the national park is really the reason to come out here. If you have not been before we HIGHLY recommend you plan an extra day (or more!) to be able to see part of this incredibly unique, special place. We are hoping to organize at least one group hike/walk either the day before or after the ceremony-- check out our Schedule page for updates!
This is an Old West restaurant that regularly hosts live music and dancing. If you want to check it out during your stay, we strongly suggest making advance reservations (as in, a couple months of advance--really, this place is popular).
Excellent spot for coffee, located in downtown Joshua Tree. Lattes and nitro cold brews have both been Meredith/Kyle tested and approved. FYI outdoor seating only, and it often very busy so come prepared for a bit of a wait.
This little vegetarian spot is located in downtown Joshua Tree. They have breakfast options until 11am, and smoothies (we recommend the "monkey business") and light eats the rest of the day.
Meredith speaks not infrequently of the New York reuben here. Good sit down spot for salads, sandwiches, and the like located in downtown Joshua Tree.
This doesn't sound like the kind of place we eat at almost every time we are in town, but it actually is. We've never had the pizza, but the Indian food is "legit" per Kyle, and they have take out options for when all the restaurants in town have long waits.
Nice option for light gluten free/vegan breakfast and snack items, and they also have great coffee. Very nice owners.
To be honest, we haven't yet been, but it is on our list! Make advance reservations for healing sound baths etc. at this desert institution.
New York Times-approved fine dining in the desert. Please note the hours are Wednesday - Sunday 2 - 7 p.m. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/15/dining/la-copine-review.html
Kind of a general recommendation, depending on your length of stay in the area. Palm Springs is around a 45 minute drive from the high desert, but is a fun resort town that has had a resurgence of cool restaurants, hip bars, etc.
Small but fun cactus garden in Palm Springs. Highly grammable.
Very delicious Vietnamese-fusion food. At the time of this writing, they are only open for dinner, 5-9pm.
