Any lingering questions, after all this? Feel free to email me (merbrock@gmail.com) and I will update here accordingly.
Question

Where is this again?

Answer

Both the wedding and reception will take place here: Tumbleweed Sanctuary 57889 Pueblo Trail Yucca Valley, CA 92284 Yucca Valley is in the high desert, east of Palm Springs and very close to Joshua Tree National Park. Please note that while the venue is indoor/outdoor, assuming good weather both the ceremony and dinner will take place outside, so please bring a sweater/jacket.

Question

What's the weather like out there?

Answer

I'm so glad you asked. While in the public imagination the desert evokes, not inaccurately, words like HOT and BLISTERING, the desert also can get quite cold at night. We chose to hold our ceremony in April because the weather is typically at its most pleasant: average high of 74 degrees and low of 45 degrees in Yucca Valley. It will likely be warm but not super hot during the day, and almost certainly will be chilly in the evening.

Question

What do I wear?

Answer

Wedding-appropriate clothing with comfortable but nice shoes is the short answer. Please no jeans, t-shirts, etc. Long answer: desert cocktail attire. While average daytime temperatures for April in Yucca Valley are in the mid 70s, nights can get chilly (average low of 45 degrees), so bringing a sweater or jacket is important. Suits, long dresses, jumpsuits are all appropriate. Also: you will likely be walking on both paved floor as well as dirt on the day of the ceremony, so please wear comfortable shoes (wedge heels could work, but I would probably personally opt for flats). The ceremony will be late in the day, but depending on your sun sensitivity, sunglasses and hats are also a wise choice (you can always leave them in the car if needed).

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

You have options! In our Travel & Lodging section we have outlined some different ideas, but I'll take the opportunity here to iterate that a home/room rental through Airbnb or VRBO may be the most economical/interesting. If you are a traveling by yourself, feel free to reach out and I can see if there are any guests who are renting a space that might have an extra room. Generally speaking I would say any rentals in Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree, and Pioneertown would likely be close enough. Our venue is not far off Route 62 (also called Twentynine Palms Highway), so you can use that as a marker for distance when booking.

Question

Are our kids invited?

Answer

If your children's names come up on your RSVP page (after you've entered your own name): yes! If not: no. Because we have limited space, the only children invited are our nieces and the babies/very young children of those traveling from far away. We apologize for any inconvenience, and appreciate your understanding.
