Jenny is Meredith's sister who lives in DC. Being the older sister, Jenny has been there with sound advice and wisdom to share over the years. She was Meredith’s number one playmate in the 80s, and taught her so much in the early years. Being Mere’s big sister, you know she has some patience. :) Between the two Nelson sisters you’ll see some similarities and likely notice they balance each other out well. Jen might be known as the more introverted of the two, but keep an eye out - she is known to tear up a dance floor!!
Syneva Dekker
Maid of Honor
Syneva and Meredith met when they were ten years old, and became fast friends. They have become more like sisters over the years, and are there for each other no matter the circumstance. Back in high school it wasn’t uncommon for them to show up in the SAME outfit. And a few years ago they went wine tasting in Napa, where yet again, they showed up wearing the same thing. Hey, they both have excellent taste. She can make Mere laugh SO hard, and brings out her silly side like no one else can.
Cheryl Nelson
Officiant
Cheryl is Meredith's cousin and trusted travel companion! She is attending the wedding as a bridesmaid officiant because we can think of no one better suited for public speaking than her! Cheryl has been a meteorologist since graduating college, has co-hosted lifestyle television shows, and spoken at/MC'd numerous events. She is more like a sister than a cousin, and always makes time for family and friends - this was so appreciated ESPECIALLY during the pandemic.
Ruby Weiss
Flower Girl
Ruby is Ivan's daughter and Mere's bonus kiddo! :) She is such a fun, bright, and SWEET seven year old. She has some awesome crafting skills, speaks two languages, and loves meeting new people.
Winston
Ring Bearer
Winston is the best family dog we could ask for! He is a one year old lovey-dovey goldendoodle. He is playful, goofy, and even hypoallergenic. :) He can't wait to meet you! (Just don't feed him chicken ;)
Brian Forest
Best Man
Brian and Ivan have been friends for over 20 years, most of which Brian has been trying to get Ivan to climb harder and more often. Brian has also been trying to keep Ivan in and out of trouble for the past two decades…depending on the day of the week!
Mike Dutton
Groomsman
Mike and Ivan met through their shared hobby of climbing. When Mike isn't hanging with his family or creating beautiful artwork, he's planning the next bike adventure and trying to get Brian, Dan and Ivan to all join in!
Dan Brown
Groomsman
Dan is also a member of the dad's climbing crew. He's always down for an adventure, be it camping, biking, climbing or grabbing a drink to chat over where the next adventure should be.
