Meredith saw a picture of Michael in some very attractive khaki pants and decided she needed to message this man. They had their first date at a sushi place where Meredith proceeded to steal his sushi. She dropped it in the soy sauce splashing it everywhere and thought the date was over after that but Michael thought it was attractively bold of her. Michael asked if she would like to go someplace else after sushi and Meredith was very happy to spend more time with him. They finished the night at an amazing jazz club called the Green Lady Lounge where they fabricated back stories and imaginary conversations for the people around them. The rest is history!
They were walking around a carnival towards its closing time for the night holding hands and trying to stay cool. Michael spotted a vendor still selling funnel cakes and since he has a weakness for them, promptly ordered some. They sat at a picnic table licking powdered sugar off their fingers and enjoying each other’s company. As they finished, Michael suddenly pulled the ring box out of his pocket and slid it towards Meredith looking terrified. Michael is not one of few words but could not seem to remember how to say that all important question. Meredith immediately jumped up to hug him and he quietly whispered in her ear, “Will you marry me?” She replied “I’ve only been waiting for this moment for 4 years.”
Michael and Meredith were all set to boogie down in September 2020 when a global pandemic decided to hit. Not knowing what the future may hold, Michael and Meredith crossed their fingers and hoped things may return to normal by Labor Day weekend but sadly that did not happen. Knowing that they still wanted to celebrate with all of you, Michael and Meredith planned a small park wedding and rescheduled their big party for Labor Day weekend 2021. On 9/5/2020, Meredith and Michael were married in a gazebo at Antioch park on a gorgeous, but very hot sunny day. They were surrounded by love with a small group of friends and family and live streamed the event for everyone that could not make it. It was the happiest day of both their lives as they were finally able to become husband and wife. Meredith was dancing on picnic tables and Michael had his sweat towel at the ready to wipe his face. Now, Meredith and Michael are planning their "One Year Anniversary" wedding party. They hope you can all make it and have the celebration that everyone missed last year. Meredith reminded Michael that had he proposed earlier none of this would have happened.
