Andrew and Mercedes' story began long before they even realized it. They attended the same high school, crossed paths countless times, and shared some of the same friends, yet some how, they never spoke. They were two familiar faces orbiting around each other, waiting for the right moment to finally collide. That moment came at their close mutual friend's quinceanera. Andrew and Mercedes were both enjoying their night separately, unaware that everything was about to change. Mercedes was dancing with a friend when she noticed Andrew approaching. Mercedes assumed that her friend and Andrew knew eachother and that he might ask her to dance. While she thought that Andrew was asking for a dance, he was really telling her friend that he was about to steal her dance partner for the night. Andrew confidently asked Mercedes to dance and thought to himself "Ive got nothing to lose." Knowing that she had to leave soon and it was getting pretty late, she told him that she wouldn't be able to dance with him that night. But Andrew was persistent and told her "Just one dance..." And somehow that line was all it took... They danced a single song together, and in that moment it felt like the whole room disappeared, like it was just them on the dance floor and no one else... As the music played they laughed and danced together so naturally. This moment between them felt so effortless, like they had known eachother much longer than just a few minutes.. When the song ended Mercedes told him, "See you at school on Monday?" hoping that she'd see him again and get to know this boy more. That's when he told her that this was his last day in Hayward and he was moving away that very night. Surprised and a little sad Mercedes wished him the best and they went their separate ways, but she still hoped she might hear from him again someday. Later that night Andrew found her instagram and sent her a message asking if she made it home safely and the rest is history... Throughout the next few weeks they shared so many deep and interesting conversations and spoke every single day. And, even now, all these years later, they still haven't run out of things to say. Little did they know that the night they met would be the start of the most beautiful journey of their lives. They were just two young teenagers, not knowing who they were or where this was going, just enjoying every moment. And now, almost a decade later, here they are. Older, wiser (well... debatably), still making eachother laugh, still dancing when no one's watching, and still choosing eachother every single day. Their love story has survived growing up, growing together, and growing into the people they were meant to be. Now, they are ready for the moment they have waited all of these years for- saying "I DO" surrounded by everyone who means the world to them and has loved and supported them from the start.
