Great question! Anything in Estes park or north east or east of Estes would be your best option! Lyons is 30 min away and Drake is 20 min away. Although, beautiful we do not recommend Granby or Grand lake or the surrounding areas as it is not as close as maps make it seem. If you have any questions or would like further recommendations, please reach out to us we would love to assist.
Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation.
We have stated family on the invitation if your child is included. They will also be listed under your RSVP. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating with you! Ex. The Wallace Family
We would love to see our family and friends get dressed up for our big day! The official dress code for the wedding ceremony and reception is garden party formal attire. Gentlemen, we ask that you wear a suit and you are encouraged to wear a tie. Ladies, we ask that you wear a midi to floor length dress or dress suit. Please do not be afraid to play with color as we will be in colorful Colorado. Please reference this link for outfit inspiration: https://pin.it/7i36MuTHZ ¡Nos encantaría ver a nuestra familia y amigos vestidos formalmente para nuestro gran día! Expect warm, sunny days with average highs in the 70s, but be prepared for cooler evenings with lows dipping into the 30s or 40s. Mountain storms can occur quickly, but do move on just as quick be sure to check the weather app week of for packing purposes. As for what we will do in case of rain, the ceremony is covered and the reception is inside. So no need to fret!
Parking near the venue maybe limited (up to 50 parking spaces by the venue-noted by the venue) Please account for this if you are staying outside of Black Canyon Inn Lodging. If you are not renting a car there are alternate forms of transportation within the town of Estes like Uber and Lift, however, they aren’t always readily available (making sure you reserve one in advance is advised), we are also happy to connect you with someone who is open to carpooling. The Town of Estes Park is fairly walkable if you are up for a scenic stroll.
Because the ceremony begins promptly at 3:30 PM, we recommend you arrive at 3 PM to ensure you are seated on time.
The ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors. The ceremony space is covered however the cocktail hour is not. This reception will be held indoors and if there is inclement weather the cocktail hour space will be moved indoors.
Although we love your cute furry friend, pets are not allowed at Black Canyon Inn. Service animals are allowed.
Estes Park is at 7,522 feet above sea level. If you do not live at a high elevation, we advise you take the stairs and drinks a little slower than what you normally would but unless you have a preexisting condition, you should not have anything to worry about. Alcohol will affect you faster than at lower elevations so be cognizant when enjoying your beverages. One way to help ward off altitude sickness is to stay hydrated and drink some electrolytes.
We are next to Rocky Mountain National Park which hold a host of big game animals. Keep your distance from them and let them roam as they please. If you can raise your arm up and cover them up from view with your thumb you are far enough away. If you cannot, move back. Do not try and take a selfie, pet, ride, communicate, feed, or harass them in any way. If you leave them alone you should be fine but they are wild animals and can be dangerous if approached. The Park Rangers and the local Police have no tolerance for harassing wildlife. The most common animals we have seen are groundhogs, marmots, mule deer and elk. We will be there during elk mating season so you may get a chance to hear the iconic elk bugle. Other animals we have not seen but are in the area are moose, big horn sheep, black bears, mountain lions, bald eagles and many more of America's most iconic wild life. There are no grizzly bears in Colorado.
