All wedding weekend events will take place on Stout's Island. The welcome party on Friday evening and breakfast on Sunday morning will take place in the Main Lodge. All events on the big day will take place on the main lawn!
Stout's Island has a parking lot available for all guests. You will park in the lot for the weekend and ferry over to the island via pontoon boat provided by the island. Ferries leave every hour on the hour from the parking lot throughout the weekend. If leaving the island, the ferry will leave 5 minutes to the hour, ex. 12:55pm. If you are not staying on the island, you will be able to park in the same lot for the duration of your time on the island and utilize the ferry service. The island is reserved for only guests of the Mendini wedding. Information about your specific cabin assignment is located on your invitation. Family and friends have been grouped specifically together to ensure you have the best experience possible! If you are not staying on the island there is a hotel block in Birchwood.

If you are staying on Stout's Island, you are a short walk from all of the wedding weekend events. If you are staying off of Stout's Island in Birchwood you will need to drive to the Stout's Island parking lot and ferry over to the island. All events will begin on the half hour so that you can catch the ferry beforehand on the hour, ex. the welcome party begins at 7:30 pm so you can catch the 7pm ferry.
Yes, all of the events over the weekend will be outdoors. Please take this into account when deciding what footwear to pack, the weekend is not stiletto heel friendly! The Welcome Party will feature appetizers and drinks in the main lodge as well as outdoor activities on the main lawn. The Wedding Ceremony and Cocktail hour will take place on the main lawn of the property. The Reception will be in a tented area right off of the main lawn.
Welcome Party: The wedding party will be dressed in cocktail attire, but the suggested attire is casual for all guests! Feel free to wear whatever you are most comfortable in for casual appetizers, drinks, and s'mores! Wedding & Reception: Suggested attire for the wedding Ceremony and Reception is formal. We want you to look your best! For men, tuxes are optional, or a suit, jacket and tie. For women, long dresses or dressy separates. The wedding party will be dressed in all black. Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one, they will be listed on your invitation and / or listed in your RSVP on the website. If you do not see a plus one on your RSVP, please respect our wishes. Thank you for understanding. We love your kids, but this will be an adults-only event. We hope you all see this as an opportunity to have a well-deserved weekend getaway! Thank you for understanding.
You will want to bring your formal attire for the wedding and reception. All other events are considered casual. As all events are outdoors, the couple encourages you to pack layers! You may consider packing a bathing suit for water sport activities during the day Saturday or during the Lake Party on Sunday. Towels are provided by the resort. You are able to bring a cooler on to the island with your own snacks and drinks to keep in your room. Many cabins have a kitchen or a grill available. However, the island restaurant will be open Saturday morning for breakfast and afternoon for lunch.
There are no pets allowed on Stout's Island. You can bring your own cooler to the island, but are not permitted to walk the premises with outside food and beverage. Please be respectful of Stout's Island staff and rules while on the island!
There will be an open bar for both the welcome party and the reception. You are welcome to order drinks at the Main Lodge cash bar outside of wedding party events.
Yes, you will be able to notify the couple of any food allergies on your RSVP. You will be able to RSVP for the wedding weekend once invitations are received, closer to the event.
Yes, Stout's Island has slips available for guests to rent. The boat slip must be rented in advance through the resort. You can call 715-354-3646 to discuss rental space.
No tipping is required for boat drivers or housekeeping staff as a flat 15% service fee for lodging is added to each reservation. For open bar and food provided by the couple, tip is included in our total charges. Tip is not required.
