The story will change depending on who you talk to, but the couple met in 2015 while freshmen at DePaul University. The pair lived on the same floor in their dorm and became good friends through their greek life affiliations. Becca will say she always knew and Matt will say he was too intimidated by her at first. Matt & Becca continued as friends through the years until the pair decided to take the leap from friendship to a relationship in July of 2017. After college the two moved in together with their Husky, Koda, and have since moved around the country to explore everything life has to offer. It's hard to keep track of them, but the little family currently resides in Minneapolis, MN and are loving being back in their midwest roots.

After 7 years of being together, the two finally got engaged on June 22, 2024. Matthew planned a trip to Chicago for the pair and their dog, Koda, under the guise of visiting all of their friends in the city. This is something they do a few times a year, so the only suspicious part was that Matthew had planned it all. Matthew popped the question on a walk by the lake before dinner. Little did Becca know, their closest friends and family had all come in to town and were waiting in the wings at the restaurant to celebrate their engagement. Best surprise party ever!
