Yes. Due to the ongoing pandemic, and the earliest estimates of widespread distribution of a vaccine, we have decided to postpone our wedding until October 15, 2021 for the safety of our guests, and ourselves. We hope you will understand the change, and we hope to still see everyone to celebrate when we can do so safely. Any further changes to the date will be announced on the website, so please keep an eye out for any further announcements.
As much for our own safety as for your own, we are requiring that all of our guests to submit proof of full vaccination (this means both doses for the two-dose vaccine and the two-week period following the second dose) to dvasquez073@gmail.com at your earliest convenience, OR proof a negative COVID test result received between 72 and 48 hours prior to October 15th (we are also asking that you make every attempt to remain safe and isolated between being tested, receiving the result, and attending the wedding to avoid further exposure to COVID after testing). We are also not requiring, but asking our vaccinated guests to consider getting tested regardless, to try and mitigate the risk of breakthrough infections. For information on where to get a rapid result COVID test in Coconut Grove/Miami, please check out the travel tab.
Yes! Memetaj is pronounced MEH-MEH-tie, so it's a play on "Tie the Knot" (#MemetajTheKnot)! Credit to our wonderful officiant, Abby Orrick, who came up with this hashtag years before we were engaged!
It is so important to us that our wedding is special for all of our guests, so we're asking everyone to please RSVP by the July 15th, 2021 to make sure we have enough time for all of those personal touches! If you don't, that's fine — just bring your own chair and a sandwich...
Yes! Please check out the Travel tab for information on hotel blocks, available at a nearby Hilton and at a nearby Marriott.
When you RSVP on the website, you can see all invited members of your party. If there is no additional “Guest” option, then please just bring yourself (and your dancing shoes)!
We love your kids — we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off! The ceremony and the reception are kid-free zones.
Cocktail attire, please (cocktail or long dresses, dressy jumpsuits, dark jackets and slacks, or suit and tie). The ceremony will take place outdoors, and the reception will be in an air-conditioned tent. If it rains, the ceremony will also be inside the tent. We understand it's Florida and it's hot, so dress as comfortably as you need within cocktail guidelines (no flip-flops, shorts, etc.).
There is a small parking lot at the venue as well as free valet parking at a lot across the street. However, to make sure everyone has a fun AND safe night, we recommend taking Ubers/Lyfts/taxis to and from the venue. Check out our travel page for some Lyft codes!
We're asking guests to arrive promptly at 5:00pm. This will give you time to settle in, take some photos, and find your seat before the ceremony starts at 5:30pm.
We love your enthusiasm! But we have an amazing photographer and videographer team that will be recording every second for us. We ask that you please respect our wishes for an unplugged ceremony and turn off all phones and recording devices before the ceremony begins. We may even have a "phone check" (similar to a coat check for all our Northern friends) where the venue will take, tag, and hold on to your phone during the ceremony and return it as soon as it is over. We want all our guests to be in the moment. Just vibin'. Not a phone in sight.
