Super fun place. Live music every night. They have shipping containers made into kitchens. They have wood fired Pizza, ice-cream, taco shop and Malaysian. The Tacos are outstanding- try the diablo tacos or from Rasa, the Malaysian joint where our Belizean BFF, Chosen will whip you up some Kway Teow and so many other great dishes! There is also poolside movies on Wednesdays, and a whole back area with dock overlooking the lagoon, and pool tables. $$ prices.
Small and very laid back caye a short boat ride from Ambergris caye. Only 4 miles long, one side called "the split" is an all day party-tables in the water, drinking games etc. Small colorful houses dot the main avenue along with beachside local fire grilled seafood and small seaside bars. On the other side of the island you can feed giant Tarpons that will leap out of the water to eat anchovies.
This place is quite famous. Scuba divers and snorkelers heaven. It is at the southernmost tip of the island a few miles off the coast. Justin and I STILL haven't been. Lets have Las Terrazas hook up a day! *Keep in mind this is a very long, full day and is not cheap.
Full of people, food, tables in the water. Lots of local vendors with crafty stuff. Can be a bit of a party with a younger crowd. Especially during spring break. Be prepared for 30 minute bumpy, all dirt road drive in the golf cart. You can also access this by boat but you have to go all the way around the island to the Lagoon side. Approximately one hour boat ride.
In my opinion, the best papusas in San Pedro town. And most other places don't have a nice sit down area like this does. Check their hours. They close randomly. Great lunch spot. If you haven't had a papusa- think stuffed tamale masa- with bean and cheese, shredded pork, seafood etc., do it! We will go with you! Prices $
Where the bougie Americans go when they are craving a gourmet style market. But seriously- awesome, but small selection of local Belizean items, local fish, spices, local eggs and cream, and produce as well as a sandwich, espresso and smoothie counter. Oh, and fresh pressed juices. The Belizean Tony’s market (for you Colorado folk!). Prices $$
Over the water bar with a roped off float area with tubes, so bring your suit! Really good food with a tequila bar downstairs. Try their homemade whole jalapeno lobster poppers with (off menu) spicy mango habanero sauce. Drool* Oh! And a coconut mint gin fizz! If your into that sort of thing....teehee. Prices $$$
We have not eaten here personally. However, they are well known for their Belizean and Bolivian fare. Bolivian breakfast, anyone? And they are right next-door to the resort. Let’s go try it together!!!
This is a stellar place for shopping for gifts for your loved ones who are stuck back at home. What makes it great, is there are so many options in one area! This may be just our opinion, but everyone needs to go home with a sea animal made of the local Belizean hardwood, Granadillo and Mahogany! Check out their Facebook page. All of these items are locally made in Belize. Support the community! Prices $-$$$
