Maid of Honor
Amanda and Melannie first met on the playground At Burton Elementary sometime between 1995 and 1996. Melannie was sad, sullenly looking at her broken piano attached to a music book. Amanda, concerned, asked "What's happened to your keyboard?" Which Melannie responded "Someone DESTROYED it!!!!" In Sophomore year of highschool, the two reunited for the first time as friends when they met at dance tryouts for the Hightower Hilights Dance Team. Bonding over dance routines, Social Officer duties, and getting mistaken for twins, the two became life long best friends, even sisters some would say.
Best Man
Anthony Knight Being Nat’s uncle, Tony has been around since day one. At an early age, it became pretty apparent that they shared a common interest in video games and Tony, in his own personal way, showed Nat what was out there. As years passed, the rolls as student and teacher faded, and now the two spend much of their time arguing over nerd culture online and catching up on each other’s daily life.
Bridesmaid
Aimee and Melannie met in 2009 at Paul Mitchell the School Houston. Their friendship started out strong with strange house parties in Missouri City, late night Taco Bell runs, and sleep overs. These days, the two share knowledge about plants, photography, dogs, shopping for crystals, talking each other off of the edge of insanity, and opening a small salon business together. From the beginning, Aimee has always been one of the most honest and deep friendships Melannie has ever had. She is unafraid to be real and openly empathetic. Her friendship with Melannie is as real as her obsessions with Avians.
Groomsman
As one of Nat’s oldest friends, Mark was around during the early years of Nat’s life. Moving to Pittsburgh, there were tons of new friends to be made, but Nat and Mark’s friendship was one of the few that kept growing even after the Rennalls’ left Moon. Now, the two adult nerds keep up thru voice and video calls, keeping up with in each other as family does.
Bridesmaid
Joanna and Melannie met in 1995 through family friends. Apart from sharing the same culture and living down the street from each other, they bonded over building lego cars, DDR and Pokemon Stadium. Joanna was one of the kindest souls to enter Melannie's life during a time of adversity of constantly transferring schools between Houston and the Philippines. Joanna was the constant familiar in Melannie's life during her earlier years. Today, they are closer than ever, going through the same motions in life while eating really delicious food together on their free weekends.
Groomsman
Joe’s friendship with Nat was slowly built over the course of high school, college, and their respective introductions to adult life. After Joe sent a text telling Nat he was moving back to Houston however, their friendship went from 0 to 100 real fast. Living together in Houston, the two friends experienced a lot together, learning about each other’s quirks and even adopting some of them respectively (“Nani~!”). Now, Nat and Joe hang out in person and online playing video games and debating on nerdy topics like dubbed or subbed. coughsubbedcough
Bridesmaid
Jessica and Melannie met around 2005 at Uprising Ministries youth group, where they both performed musically. Both coming from a blend of American and Filipino families, the two shared the same sense of humor and sense of being. During their early 20's they both discovered the city for the first time together-Dressing up, going out for drinks and dancing and laughing about it at 2am at the apartment they shared together. Through the years, Jessica definitely became family to Melannie. As life and careers forced the two in different directions, when they do get to spend time together, it's like they never skipped a beat.
Bridesmaid
Becca and Melannie met as coworkers at The Upper Hand Salon. After working together for almost two years, they both decided to become independent business owners. During this transitional time, the two shared common fears, hopes and dreams for their careers and built a strong friendship over laughing off the anxiety and celebrating each other's independence. Aside from work, the two share interests in plants, memes, sushi and twerking dance classes.
Groomsman
Speaking of long-time friendships, Taylor holds down the tied-for-first friendship when it comes to the longest friendships. Despite distance and time, Taylor and Nat remained close friends. Constantly needing out about video games, food, alcohol, and music, it wasn’t long after Taylor moved back to Houston that Nat invited Taylor to play in his band. They didn’t become famous, but the memories were worth it.
Bridesmaid
Nicole is someone that Melannie genuinely looks up to. As Nat's older sister, she has been one of the biggest mentors for him as well as being one of his best friends. Melannie admires her zeal for traveling and the approach she has on living the life of her dreams. After bonding over books, crazy food and Game of Thrones references, Melannie is so excited for such an empowering woman like Nicole to become her sister!
Groomsman
Nat and Ian met during college and became almost instantaneous best friends a few days after. As one of the few people who Nat roomed together with during college, the memories and stories are endless. Combine on top of that all of the bands these guys have been in together and it’s no wonder that Ian is Nat’s go-to back up plan for when the zombie apocalypse happens.

Sara is the twin that Nat never had. They have shared life paths, bands, and now they’re getting married in the same year!

Officiant
Melannie and Tan have a very special and unique friendship. It all started online through blogging and sharing similar life experiences when they were both 19. The two have only met a handful of times since they lived in different states but they have kept in touch for over 12 years! Melannie and Nat consider Tan as family with how much they’ve bonded with her over the years and they always look forward to seeing her when they visit NYC. Tan is the perfect person to usher both Mel and Nat into this new chapter in their lives.
Flower Girl
Isabella is the daughter of Melannie’s cousin, Ingrid. She makes the most perfect flower girl!
Mother of the Groom
Momma Ann is the mother of many of the attendees of this wedding (both related and blood related). She wears many hats in both Melannie and Nat’s life, but none more important that beloved confidant. She enjoys her retirement in Jamaica, but has chosen to travel to Houston to celebrate with her loved ones.
Father of the Groom
Norman Rennalls is the probably the the most adorable dad in the world. Not satisfied with his role as just father of the Rennalls family, he is also a coach, mentor, and valued counselor to the family. Norman and Nathaniel’s relationship has grown, and what was once a father-son connection has deepened to one of trusted friend and confidant.
Mother of the Bride
If you ever wonder where Melannie gets her sass and resilience from, it’s this lovely lady! She passed down her love for guitar and singing to Melannie, along with teaching her how to be a strong and independent woman. These days, Sabrina loves getting the family together and cooking up amazing food for the ones she loves!
Step Father of the Bride
Cyrus has always been like a close uncle to Melannie. When Sabrina was was raising Melannie along with her younger brother and sister, as a single mother, Cyrus was the biggest help in taking care of them when Sabrina would work night shifts at the hospital. Eventually Cyrus and Sabrina fell in love and got married! Cyrus has been such a great father figure in the family. The best part is that Cyrus and Sabrina love to sing and play guitar together!
Sister of the groom
Sarah is the hippy soul sister Mel never knew she needed! You can always find Sarah swimming in the nearest body of water, singing loudly to a tune she loves or simply helping those around her that need it. Sarah is the family’s healer in every sense of the word. Mel and Nat are so blessed to have her as a sister!
Brother of the Bride
Shane is both the baby brother as well as the protector of the family. He has been serving the country as a US Marine, and the family is damn proud of him! Don’t let his physique fool you… he’s the sweetest baby brother under all that muscle!
