We met August 2021 in Humboldt, CA just two weeks after we both moved there. Daniel moved to Humboldt for his first teaching job, and Melody moved there for grad school. After 3 years in Humboldt together, we moved to Utah where we snowboard, backpack in the backcountry, mountain bike, and road trip to the National Parks near us. Daniel is teaching at a reputable charter school and Melody is working at a pet food company as a food scientist in research and development! We are both happy and building our lives together!

We went on a New Year’s Eve road trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming to snowboard and go snowshoeing. While we were snowshoeing at Grand Teton National Park, Daniel took out a ring and proposed.
