Melissa & Shneur

Things To Do

We love Brooklyn and are so lucky to call it home! Here are some of our favorite spots and even a few that have been the backdrop to big and small moments in our life together.

Devoción

69 Grand Street, Williamsburg, NY 11249
, (718) 285-6180

We went here on our first date! While not the original plan (see our "Butler" rec for more info), it was the perfect backdrop for our meet-cute. It had plants, pistachio milk, and two lovebirds meeting IRL for the first time. Get yourself a cup of their coffee—it may just change your life (it certainly did for us).

Domino Park

15 River Street, Williamsburg, NY 11249
, (212) 484-2700

We love going for walks in Domino Park. Pro trip: order egg sandwiches (specifically the AEC) from Egg Shop and enjoy them sitting on the bleachers in Domino Park for a delicious and amazing view of the city. Or grab a drink from Other Half Brewing right off the park—the location where we hosted Shneur's birthday party last year!

Leland Eating and Drinking House

755 Dean Street, Prospect Heights, NY 11238
, (646) 470-7008

This restaurant isn't in Williamsburg but their delicious food is worth the commute. Three words: babka french toast. Plus this is where Shneur met Melissa's parents for the first time, who were immediately blown away by both their daughter's truly amazing boyfriend and the restaurant's sourdough cinnamon rolls.

Upstate Stock

2 Berry Street, Greenpoint, NY 11249

We don't refer to Upstate Stock by its given name, but rather "The Best Store in Brooklyn." It has a fantastic curation of products. Here is a list of just some of the things we have purchased from BSIB: hot honey, a book about hikes, tennis socks, a guide about NYC diners, smoked salt, a greeting card with a Van Diagram on it. Order the Campfire Latte and take it to go (along with the seven other random things you bought that you never knew you needed) and take a stroll around McCarren Park right across the way.

Butler

101 North 8th Street, Williamsburg, NY 11249

We know what you are thinking, another coffee spot? Well, yes, BUT this isn't just any ordinary coffee shop. It is where we were supposed to have our first date except one of us (cough, Shneur, cough) went to the wrong location. Don't worry, folks, the story and coffee shop have a happy ending. Shneur proposed to Melissa outside of Butler in the most thoughtful and romantic proposal ever (yes, there was a violinist playing Taylor Swift). So grab an iced americano from the window, park yourself at one of their outside tables, cue up "Love Story" on Spotify, and relive one of the happiest days of our lives.
