Maid of Honor
Sandra and Melissa have known each other a long time, like for life. Sandra was married just a few years ago to the best-man (both in her life and in our wedding). Sandra is a sweet, fun-loving, hard-working mom who brings excitement to any occasion and she's truly a pleasure to be around. Chat with Sandra for just 10 minutes and you'll feel like you've known her forever.
Bridesmaid
Melissa met Erin in Grade 8 and the two have been the best of friends ever since. They even have a 90's dance-song they claim as their own. Erin is truly like a sister to Melissa, they have survived high-school, college and now motherhood together. Erin is a hard-working mom of 2 boys and sweet Claire, all of whom have become great friends with Jayce. It seems just a few short years ago Mel stood up for Erin in Dominican Republic and now Mel is honoured to have Erin stand by her side.
Bridesmaid
Melissa and Ashley are lifetime friends, they have been there through every milestone together and share a lot of great memories through grade-school to college. Ashley and Mel share long conversations with each other and have always been able to talk about anything together. Ashley is a busy, full-time working mom to her handsome...ahem.. teenager Lucas. Busy schedules often mean less girl time these days, but they always pick up right where they left off.
Best Man
Dave is married to the beautiful maid-of-honour. Dave and Jeremy met through Mel and Sandra, and if you asked Dave he'd tell you he thought Jeremy was a total asshole the day they met... can't disagree there! Somehow these two opposites became good friends. Dave is the type of guy who will drop what he's doing to help a friend. Need a couch moved, a playhouse built, help surprising your GF with a quad for her bday? "No problem." Mel and Jeremy are very grateful he'll be standing up with them.
Groomsman
I'm not sure what number of pick-up truck Nick is on these days... but he knows his way around makin' them look good. Nick works with Jeremy at Stelco and often stops by for a chat at Mel and Jer's - always ensuring he times it perfectly to take up Mel's parking spot before she gets home. Jayce always runs out to see the latest "Monster Truck" Nick has pulled up in and we wouldn't have it any other way! Thanks for rollin' through our big day with us Nick.
Groomsman
Ron and Jeremy met through work, and they are polar opposites. Ron is genuine, friendly, polite and a bit of a shy-guy. "Uncle Ronnie" is always a pleasure to be around, and Jeremy is well... Jeremy. All kiddin' aside, Ron and Jer help each other out with renovations, moving houses and long work conversations over beer. Ron survived an ENTIRE year living with Mel & Jer and to this day "uncle Ronnie" is part of the family.
Ring Bearer
Jayce will be the star of the big day. That is, if he behaves. Melissa and Jeremy have been honoured to be called mom and dad by this little bundle of energy who keeps them on their toes. Jayce will NOT actually be carrying the rings of course ... because he's 5.. he may have his Nintendo Switch in hand instead. Be sure to fist-bump or high-five this cool kid on the big day!
Flower Girl
These two ladies mean more than anything to Melissa. If you have had the honour to meet either of them you would know the love and kindness and generosity these two women share. While they may be a bit older than your stereo-typical flower girl, there is no one better suited to play the most beautiful part of the day then these two very special ladies.
Father of the Groom
Jack, the father of the groom, is always happy to strike up a conversation about anything to anyone. He's a wealth of knowledge and pleasure to talk with. If you can't find Jer at home, he's most likely tinkering around in Jack's garage, and Jayce also loves being in Papa Jack's garage.
Mother of the Groom
Beth, or better known as the pastry-chef of the family, is the mother of the groom and an absolute wizard in the kitchen. From the tastiest of dishes to the most delightful pies and desserts. Chef may not have been her life-long career, but Melissa and Jayce sure do love to indulge in all the sugary treats she sends!
Mother of the Bride
Often mistaken as Mel's sister, but she's not - Anabela is the mother of the bride. While she won't be sporting her storm-trooper or Dr. Who costumes at the wedding she will be dressed in style. Nana-bel, as we like to call her, can be found working in her garden or indulging in a Starbucks with Mel when venturing out of town. Like mother, like daughter.
Father of the Bride
Paul, or Papa P as he has become to be known, is not as grumpy as he may come off when you first meet him, and if he is, just throw Jayce at him and he's all smiles. Paul, father of the bride can also be found working in the garden with Anabel or BBQing for the family in the summertime in the backyard.
Wedding Planner
Sophia and Mel have been friends since highschool. They have recently reconnected over Yoga, paddle-boarding and life in general. Especially over the past few years there is rarely a moment where these two aren't together laughing hysterically. Sophia is the day-of coordinator and will be managing all things beautiful at the venue on the big day. Thank you Sophia!
