If you are coming from out of state, your best bet is to fly into JFK. You could rent a car at the airport. Setauket is about an hour east of JFK. You could also fly into MacArthur Airport which is a regional airport on Long Island, but usually the cost is much higher. If you are coming from Connecticut you can take the Port Jefferson Ferry from Bridgeport to Port Jefferson. It’s just over and hour ride and saves a lot of time. You do have to book tickets in advance, especially since Labor Day weekend is so busy...tickets tend to sell out.
YES. This is the last weekend of the summer season in the Hamptons, and people head out from Manhattan in droves. We highly recommend that you do not travel from far away the day of the wedding. Traffic will be very heavy. There are many options for Airbnb, and a few hotels in the area. We recommend staying in the area at least the night before the wedding to insure an easy morning day of. The entire wedding day will take place within the Setauket/Port Jefferson area, which is on the North Shore of Long Island. If you’re looking into a place to stay, take a look at the hotel list provided. If you’re looking at Airbnb’s, be sure to stay on the North Shore. Good areas to stay would be Port Jefferson, Setauket, Stony Brook, Mount. Sinai, Wading River, St. James, Smithtown

Formal The formal dress code is located somewhere between cocktail and black tie. For the ladies this dress code requires a short or long formal dress, or dressy separates. For men, a dark suit, white shirt, and conservative tie is appropriate.
