COVID-19 Travel Policies

While Mexico does not require a COVID test to come into the country, the U.S. does. We highly recommend Americans get their COVID tests (negative test good for 3 days) in the U.S. just prior to traveling. This eliminates the need for testing in Mexico and the possibility of a quarantine in Mexico should the test be positive. Covid-19 Testing Required for U.S. Entry

"Effective January 26, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will require all air passengers two years of age and over entering the United States (including U.S. citizens and Legal Permanent Residents) to present a negative COVID-19 test, taken within three (3) calendar days of departure​, or proof of recovery from the virus within the last 90 days. Airlines must confirm the negative test result or proof of recent recovery for all passengers prior to boarding. ​Airlines must deny boarding of passengers who do not provide documentation of a negative test or recovery."

While travel restrictions for vaccinated people may decrease with time, as of this posting vaccinated people are held to essentially the same standards as unvaccinated people in terms of travel. We highly recommend everyone get vaccinated and bring their vaccine cards or other proof of vaccination with them while traveling. This will substantially reduce the risk of COVID and/or the chances of any potential travel complications, including the consequences of a potential positive COVID test for those trying to return to the U.S.
