Or, so we both thought! If you don't know what Meetup.com is, it's a website where you can meet friends and do activities you like to do, based on the type of group you signed up for. Well, we both met at a Paninis in Mayfield, for a 90's band. (Thanks Gayle for hosting!) We both sat down at the same table, and started talking to one another, and we had a few things in common. I, Melissa saw Charles on the dance floor and was impressed that this guy ACTUALLY wanted to dance, and only with one drink! So, I got up and started to dance with him. Afterwards, he bought me a drink, and we talked outside for over an hour, and he asked me out on our first date. After that, was the start of our relationship! We hope to continue this journey with all of you!
To back up a few days before, Charlie told me that there was a meeting at work and, he would be late, and he would be home at 5:00! Which to me, that is something that happens about every month or so. Instead, he went over to my parent's house, unannounced, and asked for their permission to marry me. My mom was so happy, she even gave him cookies! The next day, (on a random Wednesday) since he and I had off, he told me that he went to do laundry. When he came back up, he told me that Ginger, the cat, had bolted out off the door (as she does try to). He said she went up the stairs, to the top of the staircase, and I'm not sure how she would have gotten on the rooftop but, that is where he said she went to. I kept saying, "Just pick her up, and let's go." Nonetheless, I followed him up to the rooftop, he got down on one knee, and he proposed!! Now you know, I said "Yes!!" The rest history.
