Over 30 miles of paved trail meandering along the Colorado and Gunnison Rivers, running from Palisade to Loma. There are numerous access points and all provide easy walking, biking, running and wildlife viewing. Rafting, kayaking and paddle boarding are all options as well.

The Museums of Western Colorado is the largest multi-disciplinary museum between Salt Lake City and Denver. Over the past fifty years we have grown to include three major museum facilities – Cross Orchards Historic Site, Dinosaur Journey Museum, and the Museum of the West; a respected research library – the Loyd Files Research Library; and four active outdoor paleontology sites.

The WCBG is home to several specialty gardens including the Cactus Garden, Antique Rose Garden, Children’s Secret Garden, the Western Heritage Garden, Celebration Plaza, Japanese garden and the gardens that surround our buildings. The tropical rainforest and butterfly house showcase tropical plants and orchids as well as koi fish, turtles, tortoises, and butterflies.
