Flight
We recommend flying into Calgary, which is a 1 hour 40 minute drive to Banff.
Rental Car
We recommend renting a car from the Calgary airport and driving 1 hour 40 minutes to Banff. Alternatively, there’s a bus called On-It that goes from downtown Calgary to downtown Banff for 3 hour 10 minute trip. The bus is only 1 hour 50 minutes, but you’ll need to take an Uber or bus on each end from Calgary airport to the bus stop, and from the bus drop off to the Fairmont. For your awareness, a National Parks Pass is required to enter a national park in Canada (which Banff is within). When driving to Banff, you can purchase a pass at the park gates. Alternatively if you want to get ahead of the game, you can just purchase a parks pass online. Link here -- https://www.banfflakelouise.com/park-pass-purchase
Hotel
Fairmont Banff Springs is the most convenient hotel since it’s where the wedding and Sunday brunch will be.

Travel Note
If you are looking for alternative hotel options, please use this discount code for the Banff Lodging Co: Wedding24. This group owns 11 hotels in Banff. We recommend staying in Banff rather than Canmore since it will be closer to the weekend's festivities. Our planners called out The Rimrock Resort, Buffalo Mountain Lodge, Peaks Hotel, and The Mount Royal as their favorites.
Travel Note
Banff does not allow Airbnb in the National Park, but they do have plenty of Bed and Breakfasts. This website is the best place to start! Our planners say The Abegweit on the Bow is a favorite of many locals. It's a spectacular house that is part of the Whyte Museum.
Travel Note
If you're thinking of coming early to the Canadian Rockies, the Calgary Stampede runs from July 5th to 14th 2024! Known as "The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth", the event includes rodeos, festivals, concerts, agricultural competitions, chuckwagon racing, and more!
