How to Get to Chios

Greece has announced that it is opening to tourists on May 15th! Anyone getting on a flight to Greece will need proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test. We hope that all of our guests will be vaccinated by August. Be aware that there are NO direct flights to Chios. You will most likely need to transfer in Athens. Additionally, there are only a few flights from Athens to Chios each day, so make sure you get your tickets as soon as you know when you'll be landing in Athens! A good option is taking a day or two to see Athens between flights. Let us know if you'd like any recommendations for the Athens area (pro tip: the Old Archaeological Museum is just as nice as the new one on the Acropolis!) We will have some activities in Chios planned for before and after the wedding, so we recommend spending a few days there with us (at least Thursday-Sunday). Chandris Hotel

There will be a shuttle from this hotel to the welcome dinner and the wedding. This hotel is newly renovated, and is right on the port in town. This would be an ideal location if you would like to be near shops, restaurants and nightlife! There is also a small pool on site. Pricing ranges from 100 euro to 140 euro, depending on the size of the number of people to be accommodated. This is condo-style, good for large groups and families in Karfas. There is a pool and it is close to a beach. To book, please email info@fegoudakis.com and let them know you will be in Chios for the Giakoumis-Musher wedding.

Hotel Riziko

This is the former reception venue. Unfortunately, they canceled on us fairly last minute and we have moved our reception to Elaiona (see "Schedule" page). It is a beautiful 17th century Genoese estate with an on-site citrus grove, in a very historic part of Chios. We have booked all the rooms at this hotel for our guests to claim, for the night of our wedding as well as the night before and the night after. You are welcome to extend your stay for longer, of course! These rooms have all already been claimed by guests.

Chios doesn't have great public transportation options. While cabs are available, we highly recommend renting a car if you'd like to see the whole island. BOOK EARLY IF YOU NEED AN AUTOMATIC CAR- they go very quickly! There is also a new rule in Greece, that you NEED to have an international license to drive. This is very easy to get here in the US- if you have AAA, you basically just need to request it and print it out. Travel Note

A note on Airbnb

Airbnb is a great option on Chios. However, if you stay outside of the main town, keep in mind that transportation becomes more difficult. If you have a car you can pretty much stay anywhere on the island you want, but the Northwestern part of the island is fairly difficult to get to, so it may be best to stick the the southern half of the island. That said, if you are looking to book in a specific village or beach town, make sure the house is exactly where you want to be. Sometimes you request a specific village, and the actual house ends up being 10-20 minutes outside of that village. However, I know of multiple people who have already found some great houses in great locations.
