Things To Do

Hydra doesn’t try to impress—it simply is. Calm, charming, and full of quiet moments that mean everything. We hope you fall in love with it as much as we did. Here are a few places we love. the rest are already planned into our events! Love, Melina & Kyle Quick note: In the height of summer, you’ll want to book ahead for dinner—lunch tends to be more casual, but evening slots fill up fast.

Beaches

Most people in Hydra take dips by jumping off cliffside at the walkable-from-port Hydronetta or Spilia beach bars with the locals! For beaches with chairs + umbrellas, try Vlichos, Bellavia, Avlaki, Agios Nikolaos (further by water taxi), or Mandraki (the only sand beach and the priciest). Line up at the port and take the beach-run water taxis—rides are usually ~€10, and chairs around €30/day and up (they’ll confirm prices at the port). I’d skip Lefteraki’s since we’ll be hosting our beach party there on Day 2!
