Melanie and Zach met at a mutual friend’s gaming party. Melanie had already been on the couch with the girls of the groups, waiting for the guys to be done looking at the friend’s new computer set up. Zach was the last one to sit and almost sat on the floor, before Melanie scooted over and patted the spot beside her. Thanks to Stella, their dog, getting in the middle of them partway through the night, they’ve been holding hands since that night!

We officially began dating early on (April 5th, 2023), after doing the New York Times “36 Questions to Fall in Love” on a whim. We guess those questions worked!

We got engaged at Marblehead Lighthouse, in Marblehead, Ohio.

As most of you know, Zach and Melanie are both active duty military members. This threw a wrench in their originally November 3rd wedding plan, as Zach had gotten orders to move across the states to New York! In order to stay physically together, we decided to get married.
