Jarvis and Melanie are getting married!
Melanie's family visits the McCall area every year to camp and pick huckleberries during the Huckleberry Festival. Melanie's late father, Mark Russell, was born in McCall and his birthday is the same week of the Huckleberry Festival. This area is beautiful and holds so much history for our family.
There are some rooms available to our vaccinated and boosted friends and family at the venue. We have also secured a nearby AirBnb. Please reach out to us directly to find out if we have reserved space for you. The venue is booked for 12pm August 11th to 12pm August 13th. The AirBnb is booked for 4pm August 12th to 10am August 16th. There are also camp spots available on the venue property, and an area for RVs. The venue is close to two towns, the resort town of McCall and the smaller town of Donnelly. There are hotels in McCall, and AirBnbs in both Donnelly and McCall. Boise is only 2 hours away, if you prefer to stay in the city and just come up for the ceremony and reception on Saturday. Most places up the mountain will fill up so if you are not camping or staying at the venue or Airbnb, BOOK SOON - THIS IS A BIG WEEKEND FOR THESE SMALL TOWNS
In addition to the businesses and activities listed on our Things to Do page, there is endless fun to be had in the scenic Idaho mountains. The venue has private river access, so we can just walk down to swim, kayak, paddle board, or just float on the river. If you want to venture further, the resort town of McCall is a 10 minute drive away. There is a small, walkable Main Street that offers good food and boutique shopping. The center of McCall is the expansive and stunning Payette Lake. You can head to the lake's many beaches for swimming, or rent a boat or even jet skis at the marina. For more adventure you can book a whitewater rafting tour, or head up the mountain for fishing, hiking, and, of course, huckleberry picking.
We are only using vetted vendors with strict cleanliness practices. This is an outdoor wedding, so we will allow our unvaccinated friends and family to attend with recent negative Covid-19 PCR test. We will also be providing rapid antigen tests the day of. There will be porta-pottys and outdoor hand washing stations.
Please RSVP by July 8th, 2023, so that we can have the final count for our vendors as well as assure you have accommodations to stay.
We recommend arriving by 4:30pm to have time to park and find your seat.
There will be some children in the family, but they are invited to leave early or go to bed early as the reception will have alcohol and music not suitable for young ears.
As this is a small, destination wedding, you do just need to speak with the bride or groom beforehand.
Great question! While we want everyone to look their best for photos, we do also want you to be comfortable. Remember, this is late summer in the mountains, so the days get hot and the nights are cool. The wedding is outdoors, on grass, so wear sensible shoes or have backup sandals or flip flops to change into. There is no set dress code, but if you’d like a guideline we recommend going for “garden party semi-formal,” which includes flowy dresses to keep cool in the summer sun, light linens, light layers, etc. That being said, please dress in what ultimately makes you feel most comfortable and confident.
Please do! We can’t accommodate what we don’t know about. We are currently planning to have a limited vegan and gluten-free selection. If you have any additional requests or restrictions, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
Yes, there is a large parking lot at the venue.
