Ross is Melanie’s older brother, and Derek and Melanie feel so honored to have him as their wedding officiant. Ross is an outstanding human, and he lights up any room that he walks in to. Melanie and Derek always look forward to their next get together with him, because time spent with Ross is time well spent. Ross is the ever supportive big brother, and Melanie and Derek love him very much!
Haylie Batres
Matron of Honor
Haylie and Melanie have been friends since elementary school and their friendship has strengthened ten fold in adulthood. Whether it be relaxing around a bonfire in comfy clothes and no make up, Melanie going on Haylie’s family vacation to Disney World, or simply grabbing dinner or drinks together, Melanie can always be her truest self with Haylie. Haylie is always on top of everything, always makes Melanie belly laugh, and is always there to lend a hand. She's endlessly supportive and who you want around when you need to be hyped up. Melanie knows she can count on Haylie for any and everything and considers Haylie family.
Amy Howe

Amy is Melanie’s older cousin on her Mom’s side, but is truly her older sister for all intents and purposes. Growing up, Melanie would receive all of Amy’s hand-me-downs, aka “Amy-downs,” and Amy would do Melanie’s hair before middle school dances. Now, Amy lives in Florida but is only a phone call or text away to catch up, vent, and exchange advice.
Sidney Chalifoux

Sidney and Melanie became friends in the first grade after discovering their shared hatred for using the school bathroom (or any public bathroom, for that matter). From their Lassie League softball days to navigating adulthood, Sidney has always been a constant in Melanie’s life. Melanie is beyond grateful to have Sidney as one of her closest friends, and is so happy to have her stand by Melanie’s side on her wedding day.
Bridget McNamara
Bridesmaid
Bridget is Melanie’s cousin on her Dad’s side. Although they grew up states apart, they can always be found side by side at holiday parties and McNamara Family Game Day. When Bridget is in town visiting, Melanie always looks forward to catching a movie, playing some mini golf, or getting ice cream together. Melanie knows any time with Bridget will be a good time.
Danielle McNamara

Danielle is Melanie's sister-in-law, and Melanie is so grateful she joined the McNamara family. Melanie knows she can always look to Danielle for advice and appreciates her big sister wisdom. Danielle has been so supportive of Melanie and Derek’s wedding journey, and they appreciate all that she does for them!
Taylor Markarian
Bridesmaid
Taylor is Derek's sister, and Melanie is so glad to be gaining her as a sister-in-law. Taylor is incredibly organized and fantastic at planning. If you need any travel suggestions, she's your go to gal. She’s the best dog Mom to Butterscotch’s cousin, Remus, and is always down to give endless pets and head scratches. Melanie and Derek enjoy spending quality time with Taylor when she comes to town, and love hearing about all of her international travel adventures.
Cam McGrady
Best Man
While Cam and Derek did not meet until 2021, if you spent 5 minutes with the two of them you could swear they’ve known each other their whole lives. Their story began with late night schedule meetings at work and fixing the chaos their boss caused. Their friendship quickly grew as they spent most weekends skiing together or drinking the stiffest margaritas they could find. They have traveled the country skiing together, became mug club members at their favorite bar, and created memories that will last a lifetime.
Chris Newville
Groomsman
Chris is one of Derek’s oldest friends and their friendship began when they met in 8th grade. Their summers were filled with pool parties at the Newville’s and they shared countless nights that seemed endless in his parent’s basement. Chris could always count on Derek to be the first one to his house with a shopping bag full of Oreos and twizzlers. Chris and Derek both went to the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and they lived in the same dorm freshman year where their friendship continued. Still to this day they enjoy late night ping pong games and playing darts in Chris’s basement.
Sam Hayes
Groomsman
Sam is another long term friend of Derek’s whose history spans 15+ years. Sam could always be counted on for making the biggest splashes at the pool and spraying anyone in the near vicinity. When Chris’s mom made her infamous dip, you could always count on Sam and Derek being there to burn their mouths and stay by the dish until there was no more dip to devour. Not to mention these two making an elite beer pong team whether they are playing in someone’s backyard or in Old Orchard Beach during the Hayes’s annual vacation where they are kind enough to extend the invitation the Shrewsbury crew.
Luke Glatthorn
Groomsman
Luke was an older member of Theta Chi when Derek joined and despite the age gap, they quickly formed a life long friendship. From late nights hanging out in room 18 to throwing whatever they could find off of the 3rd floor deck, they knew that Luke graduating a few years before Derek would not be the end of their journey. In 2019 when Derek was working in Nebraska, he would fly home and spend at least one weekend a month sleeping on Luke’s couch at his infamous Fairbanks street apartment. Rest in peace 52 Fairbanks.
Matt Kelly
Groomsman
Matt and Derek met in college and they bonded instantly, creating the foundation of a friendship that would soon take them all over the country. They both share a love for skiing and they have tackled numerous mountain ranges throughout the states. Matt has pushed Derek to be better both on the mountain and in life and they have created so many memories that they will remember forever. One of those being Derek (allegedly) leading the way down a double black diamond at Big Sky that may or may not have lead to Matt flying off a cliff and breaking a rib (sorry Matt).
John Friesen
Groomsman
John was another member of Theta Chi that Derek met when he joined. If you ask John, he may say that Derek was an annoying young member but John has definitely been known to be wrong. Which clearly is the case considering the friendship that they share to this day. John and Derek’s friendship continues to grow through yearly ski trips, fantasy league, and John’s random trips back to Massachusetts.
Bradley Sarasin

Brad and Melanie have been friends since elementary school. They have created lots of memories traveling to Ireland and Iceland together. He makes a great Corn Hole partner, even if he has to remind Melanie to, “FOCUS” every single toss. Brad is the best hiking buddy, and Melanie appreciates him always being willing to hang out. Derek and Melanie are beyond grateful for Brad’s friendship, and are happy to have him be a part of our special day!
Ryan McGinnis

Ryan is Derek’s brother-in-law. He’s a captivating story teller, and is always good at making the crowd laugh. Although he lives in North Carolina, the distance has not stopped them from sharing many good times together. You can always count on Ryan to bring peanut butter Buckeyes to Christmas, and to eat his weight in King Crab. Derek and Melanie know Ryan will make a great addition to their wedding day!
