Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We kindly request that guests dress in formal attire, which can include a suit and tie, a floor-length gown, a below-the-knee cocktail dress, or an elegant pantsuit.

Are children allowed at the wedding?

Answer

While we love little ones, this will be an adults-only celebration.

Can I bring a Plus one?

Answer

Due to space constraints, we are unable to accommodate plus ones unless they are specifically named on your invitation.

Is transportation to the venues provided?

Answer

Yes! Transportation will be provided to and from the ceremony and to the reception. Shuttles will depart from Gibsons Italia and the hotel promptly at 12:30 p.m. We encourage those driving in from the surrounding suburbs to valet at Gibsons Italia. Shuttles will depart from the ceremony at 2:30 p.m. with drop-off locations at City Winery, the hotel, and Gibsons Italia. We encourage guests to explore the riverwalk prior to the reception! Please see the Things To Do page of the website for recommendations. Shuttles will depart City Winery and the hotel at 4:45 p.m. to transport guests to the reception.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Good question! Summer in Chicago is fabulous, but can tend to be warm and sunny in August with temperatures averaging in the mid 70's-80's. That said, Chicago weather is notoriously unpredictable so we are hoping for a pleasant day!

Where should we stay and how will we get around?

Answer

Chicago is a very popular summer destination so we recommend booking accommodations early. There are several hotels in downtown Chicago near the venues, but we have secured a discounted rate at The Allegro Hotel Royal Sonesta. Please see the Travel & Accommodations page of the website for more info. Airbnbs are also available but tend to book fast in the summer months. Uber/Lyft/taxis are readily available throughout the city, as well as the CTA trains and buses. We strongly recommend using rideshare/taxis to get to the ceremony location, as parking is extremely limited. Paid street parking and valet will be available at Gibsons.
