It’s a story as old as time: Boy sees girl. Boy hears girl sing. Boy can’t get girl’s voice out of his head. A few days later, an exchange of snapchats reveal that Melanie is going to the on-campus Starbucks. I was just there and halfway back to my dorm, but I quickly turned back around so that I could see her again. Many coffee dates, concerts, and camp-outs later, I asked her to sing to me forever.
We were planning to spend the weekend with a few friends at my family’s cabin in Big Sur to celebrate Andrew’s birthday. On the drive up the mountain, we were interrupted by a text from my dad instructing us to go straight to the nearby lake before stopping at the cabin to run an urgent errand. Little did I know, I was walking into a full set-up months in the making: flowers, Andrew’s best friend Zack hiding in the bushes to photograph the big moment, and a cabin full of friends and family singing "Going to the Chapel" when we returned. We can't wait to see you in SLO!
