Why Iowa? What's the Pond?

Answer

John and Melanie met while studying at the University of Iowa and have a deep connection with the land and its people <3 some branches of Mel's family have lived in Lee County for over 150 years! The Pond has been the Walljasper's favorite party venue since the mid-70s (Melanie's mom's side of the family). We've all swam in its mossy, murky waters and blown out birthday candles under the shade of the shelter house.

Pretty much! Be aware that some phone carriers may have spotty service on the gravel roads.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Absolutely! There’s even a giant swing set on the property. Please be mindful that there is a pond, so keep an eye on the little ones — and the drunk ones!
