Things To Do

We love exploring Asheville, as we plan our wedding here! Below are some of our favorite places to eat, see & drink :) When visiting for our wedding weekend, please support Asheville's local businesses as they rebuild their community.

Hole Doughnuts

168 Haywood Road, Asheville, NC

Absolutely the best donuts we've ever had! Donuts are hand-fried to order and melt in your mouth delicious. The line can get long but it moves quickly. Our order: vanilla glazed, cinnamon sugar & french toast glazed

PennyCup Coffee Co.

39 S Market Street, Asheville, NC

The best local coffee shop with house roasted beans. Mitchell's first ever coffee drink he enjoyed was here! Mel's order: oat milk latte Mitchell's order: super rad latte

Flour | S&W Market

56 Patton Avenue, Asheville, NC

Flour is a local shop in the S&W Market food hall. Absolutely heavenly homemade biscuit sandwiches and a great people watching spot! The perfect hangover cure. Mel's order: bacon, egg & cheese biscuit Mitchell's order: bacon, egg & cheese biscuit

Haywood Common

507 Haywood Road, Asheville, NC

Super cute, casual restaurant giving off Austin vibes with an outdoor beer garden. A great brunch or lunch spot with amazing food! Mel’s order: breakfast hash bowl Mitchell’s order: chicken biscuit sandwich

Farm Burger

10 Patton Avenue, Asheville, NC

A haven for us on a Friday night. A cool, casual order at the counter type spot. Incredible burgers and amazing sweet potato fries!! Mel's order: farm burger with sweet potato fries Mitchell's order: double bacon cheeseburger with fries

PIE.ZAA

46 Millard Avenue, Asheville, NC

Pizza slices bigger than your head!!! Some of the best NY-style pizza we've had. We came here after our engagement photos late on a Friday night. You can't go wrong with any slice here, but the pepperoni pizza is by far our favorite.

Black Balsam Knob

This is the mountain we climbed to take our engagement photos! It's a short 1.5 mile hike roundtrip and has beautiful panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It's about an hour drive from Asheville along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Heads up, the weather here can change quickly, going from sunny to foggy in a matter of minutes.

French Broad River Greenway

This greenway is right in the heart of the river arts district. An amazing spot for a run or walk along the river, giving us vibes of the Austin Hike & Bike trail. Fair warning, there's still some destruction of buildings along the river but the trail is still gorgeous!

New Belgium Brewing Company

21 Craven Street, Asheville, NC

New Belgium is right on the river, and its tour is free and outstanding! No trip to Asheville is complete without going down the slide on the New Belgium brewery tour. Mel's order: Fat Tire Mitchell's order: Honey Orange Tripel

Wicked Weed Brewing

91 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC

The Wicked Weed brew pub is right in the heart of downtown Asheville. Go downstairs to the outdoor beer garden for immaculate vibes & crazy good beer. Rumor has it the food is crazy good too. Mel's order: Pernicious IPA Mitchell's order: Pils

Sierra Nevada Brewery

100 Sierra Nevada Way, Mills River, NC

Located right next to the airport, Sierra Nevada is a must visit stop right as you get into Asheville or just before you leave. Head out back to their patio and enjoy the sunshine and some good beers. We went on a self-guided tour wandering through the brewery and were in absolute awe of their massive canning line. Mel's order: all the beers Mitchell's order: all the other beers

For all the days along the way
