In August of 2021, we met on a softball team built through friends of friends of friends. Right away, we clicked, got along really well, and were super excited to make a friend group in Austin. Neither of us were looking for a relationship, but shortly into the friendship, Mitchell started developing a crush. Throughout that fall, our friend group would hangout all the time: playing trivia, watching Sunday football at Mitchell’s apartment, going out to the bars. In late November, we went to a UT football game together with friends and that's where Melanie realized she had a crush on Mitchell. A couple weeks later, we went on our first date to Celis Brewery. And a month later, we made it official. Throughout our time dating, we’ve gone on many adventures… Austin FC games, exploring new breweries, trying new beers, hiking, cooking together, camping trips, traveling to fun cities, Europe & friends’ weddings. Going camping is by far our favorite activity. We love waking up in nature, doing crossword puzzles in the hammock and making pancakes for breakfast outside. So it was only fitting that Mitchell proposed to Mel on a camping trip to Palo Duro Canyon. We’re so excited to spend a lifetime of love together and can’t wait to see where this next adventure takes us!
