#TLHS Gets Married

In September 2017, Hurricane Maria decimated the Caribbean. Independently, Jamie and Mel started raising money and supplies for St. Croix, USVI. Fortunately, they stumbled across each other on a mutual friends Facebook, and became thick as thieves shortly thereafter.

Jamie and Melissa have bonded completely over their love of Jamie's biscuits & gravy, Bang Energy Drink, weight lifting and being lazy on the couch. Jamie turned Mel on to the wonders of chicken-fried steak and she turned him on to the joys of cat ownership. blah, blah, blah... Let's be honest... we work so well because we can't imagine annoying anyone else. We are best friends, lifting partners, and pet parents. We embrace each other's flaws, and encourage each other's strengths. And we make it a point to annoy the other one EVERY FREAKING DAY!

On January 11, 2019, Jamie and Melissa decided to do a secret test run of the wedding at the County Clerks' office to identify any kinks that may arise on the big day. Standing up for Mel were Jess and Matt. Mel loaned Jamie John to stand up with him, and his and Mel's best friend Pat stood up with Jamie as well. Jamie and Mel were the first couple the new county clerk married and she was VERY excited to do her schpeal. After giving the County Clerk permission to post pictures on the County's website (because who goes on the County Clerks website - more on this later), our band of merry assholes went to a TINY hole in the wall for tacos and wedding pictures. They stuffed their faces then happily wandered through book stores and yarn stores in their wedding finery, before trotting off to LifeTime Fitness to lift weights. Workouts completed, Jamie, Mel, Jess and John stuffed their faces at Marino's Fast Italian, the greatest secret wedding trial run EVER completed. Upon wakings from the best of carb comas, Mel realized their secret trial run had been broadcast on ALL of the county's social media, and BOY was the mom of the bride EPICALLY PISSED about missing out on the fantastic Italian food. The mother of the groom is threat number 2 for missing the Italian food, and therefore the happy couple have been practicing evading "pops", "smacks" and "I'll give you a reason to cry".
