People’s Coffee — A meaningful stop for us, and the place our relationship began. Be sure to say what's up to Omar for us!
Wander through Marmalade, where quirky historic homes and creative landscaping make every street feel unique. A simple stroll can lead you to the Capitol lawn or right into the heart of downtown. Experience these streets the way Koda does - you might just understand why his ears perk up every time he hears the word “walk.”
This beautiful spot, with its grand interior and expansive grassy grounds, is where all of our most important talks happened. From here, you can see stunning views of both the Wasatch and Oquirrh Mountains. We’ll be celebrating our wedding just down the hill at the park, making it even more special. And coming in 2026, the new Museum of Utah on the Capitol grounds will open with exhibits celebrating the state’s history, culture, and art — a great future stop if you’re in the area.
Gorgeous botanical garden with trails and spring blooms. Natural History Museum is right next door.
Sits on an active fossil quarry, with real dinosaur bones discovered beneath the building, and houses one of the largest collections of dinosaur fossils in the Intermountain West — many found right here in Utah. Red Butte Garden is right next door.
Hikes & easy nature walks with mountain views. There are many different sections you can hop on and off. A great option could be: Avenues Twin Peaks via Tomahawk Trail (Check this out & look for current conditions on AllTrails) Another nice option: Tunnel Springs Trail Head
Stunning panoramic views high above Little Cottonwood Canyon. About a 40 minute drive from downtown.
Easy to advanced hikes with scenic views, like Dog Lake (one of our very first dates) and Desolation Overlook. May have a small access fee that goes to the upkeep of the area.
Beautiful bird exhibits in Liberty Park. Keep a look out for the free range peacocks!
One of our go-to spots for great drinks, good energy, and late-night hangs.
The spot where our first official date landed. Cozy, stylish, and full of great cocktails — the perfect place to start our story together.
For an elevated evening experience, we recommend Lake Effect. Known for its expertly crafted cocktails, this three-level space offers something for every mood. The main floor and lower level—The Rabbit Hole—are our favorite spots for a classier night out, complete with live music that sets the perfect tone. It’s an effortlessly stylish place to sip, unwind, and celebrate into the evening.
A sentimental favorite where we celebrated selling our first home together. The restaurant had so many details that reminded us of the house we’d just sold. Try the lamb burger — it was so good it literally brought Melanie to tears the first time.
