Our story began on a Christian dating app - Holy. We met on Friday, October 3rd and Gabby messaged Jacob first. Trust me, she does NOT let him forget it 😉. We texted a good bit for the first day and planned to Facetime on Sunday to get to know each other. When the time came, we effortlessly talked on the phone for a short 2 hours. We talked about our faith, our past, and what we want our future to look like. We realized at the end of the call that this was real; this wasn't just another person we'd talk to for a few days before never talking again. Jacob was intentional and made it a point to see Gabby quickly. Within 6 days, Jacob had booked a hotel and planned a special first date at Sunday Park, which was somewhere he would go often growing up in Brandermill. We had a great dinner at the Boathouse before walking around the park and settling down in the chairs on the dock to talk and get to know each other more. Nine days later, we went on our second date to Axe Throwing and Fall Line Kitchen and Bar. Jacob is a huge romantic (IYKYK) so he always likes taking Gabby to new experiences, especially food, since that's her love language. We talked more about our faith, our views on kids, our finances, and everything in between. By the time we sat down for dinner, we were over the moon. At the end of this date, we kept a special memento that we'd only bring out on our wedding day. Crazy right? We're talking about this on our second date! But we were both hoping this would be our forever. Our relationship is certainly not easy. With Jacob traveling from North Carolina to Richmond every weekend, work schedules, Mateo's schedule, and everything else, our relationship is only possible by the grace of God. He's blessed us exponentially and has opened every door to keep prospering us a couple. We're writing this six months after meeting as an engaged couple, completely in awe of what the Lord has done in bringing us together. We can't wait to live out the rest of our days together, glorifying our good God!
