We’re Getting Married!

Currently, we are planning to get married and hold a reception with necessary precautions as scheduled in May. Please be assured that during our planning, we are making every effort to abide by CDC guidelines. However, we do understand that some might not feel comfortable traveling and/or attending.

This love story started about four years ago on July 4th at a lake. Chris spotted Julie on top of a pontoon boat and made he way over to say hello. Something about the combo of (very) short black jean shorts and a plaid cut off shirt caught Julie’s eye. Neither of them knew how much this conversation would change their lives. Fast forward to Opening Day 2017, when a few too many tequila shots gave Julie the courage to finally make a move. By ‘make a move’, we mean awkwardly follow Chris from one bar to another, where he was meeting friends. From this point on, Colorado Rockies games have been a very important part of their relationship. Ask when their anniversary is and the answer is always, “Opening Day”, neither of them can recall the actual date. Now, after over three years together they have traveled from coast to coast together, visiting cities such as San Diego, New York City and Washington DC, just to name a few. They’ve also made the trek overseas, spending almost two weeks exploring Ireland with two of their best friends (don’t worry… arguments were minimal and everyone made it back in one piece!). Together, they brought a new family member into their lives, Kai, a golden retriever they named after their favorite restaurant in Ireland. Surprised? If you know them probably not. Folsom is the best big brother to Kai, but also knows how to put her in her place. Together, Chris and Julie have truly built a life they love. In July 2019, Chris surprised Julie with a birthday trip to Napa Valley, which turned out to be the beginning of the next chapter of their life. At Sherwin Family Vineyards, Chris proposed with beautiful vineyards, ripe with grapes used to make some of the finest wine in the world, in the background. As they move into the next phase of life, Chris and Julie want to celebrate their love with the people closest to them.
