If you'd prefer to book a room at a different hotel, there are lots of options throughout the city. Hotel rooms in downtown Des Moines are currently pretty full, but more rooms should become available in mid- to late-May when any unused rooms from reserved blocks around our wedding date are released back into a hotel's inventory.

Getting to the Tea Room
LOCATION The Tea Room is located on the sixth floor of the Wilkins Building at 713 Walnut Street in downtown Des Moines. MAIN ENTRANCE The entrance to the Wilkins building is located on 8th Street, halfway between Walnut Street and Locust Street. On the day of the wedding, there will be a sign outside the entrance of the building to help direct guests. Upon entering the building, the elevators are down the hall to the left. Take the elevator to the sixth floor and they will open right into the main lobby of The Tea Room. SKYWALK ENTRANCE The skywalk entrance to The Tea Room is most directly accessible from the Des Moines Partnership building on the second floor. You can take the stairs or the elevator to the second floor and follow the skywalk directions to the Wilkins/Tea Room entrance. Once inside the Wilkins building, take the elevator to the sixth floor.

Parking at the Tea Room
Street Parking: Nearby street parking is metered until 9 p.m. on Saturdays. 9th and Locust Garage: Three-minute walk to The Tea Room. Vehicle entrance and exit are on the south side of the garage on Locust Street. The southeast corner of the garage links to the skywalk and provides the most direct route to The Tea Room (both on skywalk and street level). Rates are $1 per hour (up to $10 per day) Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Accepts credit and debit cards only. 8th and Mulberry Garage: Three-minute walk to The Tea Room. Vehicle entrance and exit are on the northwest corner of the garage on Mulberry Street. The east half of the parking structure is private parking. Pedestrian entrance and exit are on the south side of building on Cherry Street. Rates are $1 per hour (up to $10 per day) on Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Accepts credit and debit cards only.
