May 14! The sooner, the better. :)
You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly. Conversely, if you're planning to attend, please ensure you return your RSVP along with your meal choice(s) so we can include you in the final head count.
We have blocks of rooms reserved at the Downtown Des Moines Marriott and the AC Hotel East Village, and have now added a third block at the West Des Moines Marriott. But there are lots of hotels all over the city to choose from! If you're not staying downtown, you may want to find a hotel close to I-35/I-80 or I-235 to make travel into downtown a little easier.
The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal. Suits and cocktail dresses are welcome, and so are gowns and tuxes.
Guests should plan arrive between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m. the day of the wedding.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m., and will be immediately followed by a cocktail hour while the main room is flipped for the dinner and reception; hors d'oeuvres will be served during cocktail hour. From there, dinner will begin at 7:00 p.m. and the reception will end at 11:00 p.m.
While we welcome lots of photos during the cocktail hour and reception, we ask that people keep their phones stashed away (and on silent!) during the actual ceremony. We'd love for everyone to witness our biggest moment through their own eyes rather than through the screen of their phone. We've also hired a couple of amazing photographers to help capture our big day, so there will be plenty of ceremony photos to share with everyone at a later date.
Yes, there's a spot on the RSVP card to indicate any dietary restrictions. We'll work with our caterer to accommodate your needs accordingly.
