Flight
For those flying into Dublin airport, a taxi will cost approximately 25-30 euro, and is approximately 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. AirLink Express coach leaves from the airport, costs 6 euros one way, and takes you directly to Christchurch, which is a block away from Smock Alley. For those headed to New Haven, there is a shuttle service http://www.2theairport.com/ that takes you from JFK, LaGuardia, and Bradley Airports into New Haven.

Travel Note
Taxis are pretty cheap, but are pretty much cash (euros) only. You can get euros at the airport; also cabs are happy to swing by an ATM. Also, credit cards are accepted everywhere else, so there's no need to go crazy on the cash thing. Dublin is limited in terms of hotels, so book early. Airbnb is patchy. Hotels are also not spectacular in atmosphere, although they are clean and serviceable. We've included a short list, but other hotels nearby are Brooks Hotel, Fleet Hotel, and Handel Hotel. Within 5-10 minutes walking distance are the Shelbourne (old, fancy, expensive, but the rooms need an update); the Merrion, the Westbury, and the Westin. The Generator is a hipster hostel a 10 minute walk away in the hot and happening 'hood of Smithfield/Stoneybatter.
Hotel
Probably the nicest place to stay in downtown New Haven. They have a phone booth where you can dial in your orders to the legendary, local Modern Pizza.
