Prague is the closest main city to the castle and it's a wonderful city to visit! Most U.S. airlines travel frequently to Prague, with common connections via Paris, Amsterdam, and London. We will be in Prague the week before so feel free to join us. If interested, we plan to meet up for a Prague welcome dinner on Thursday, September 29th. Guests will need to book their own accommodation In Prague or we can help you locate an affordable place to stay. Besides hotels, we usually use Air BNB and we can coordinate to get places with/near each other. Prague is very safe and inexpensive (cheap beer)! People speak English and are usually helpful. Visitors should take normal precautions at night and be wary of pickpockets and other risks typical of any large tourist city. You can easily exchange US dollars at airports, train stations, and pull out cash at ATMs. Most major credit cards are accepted.

Skvorec is a market town approximately 45 minutes outside of Prague. As a "village" it is more rustic and quiet than Prague. There are a sprinkling of pubs and local restaurants, including a small cafe outside of the castle. There is also a newer Brewery that will be providing local brews at the event. Since the castle is old, expect accommodations to be very modest, simple and comfortable.
