Is there a dress code?
Answer
Attire: Cocktail. For summer weddings, we recommend choosing light and airy fabrics in cheerful colors like pastels, bright shades, or floral prints. Women can wear short, midi, or long dresses or jumpsuits. For men, a lightweight suit (think linen), tie and loafers is appropriate. Due to the limited capacity at our venue, all plus ones will be noted on your invitation.

Although we love your little ones, we kindly request an adults-only wedding weekend. We hope the advanced notice means you'll still be able to celebrate with us!

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?
Answer
Please arrive at the ceremony promptly by 4:15 pm. We will aim to start on time at 4:30 pm. Please note, if taking the ferry from Hilton Head Island you will need to be on the 3:30 pm or earlier ferry in order to be on time for the ceremony. This is another reason we recommend booking accommodations on Daufuskie Island at Haig Point.

Can I shop for groceries?
Answer
While there is a small general store for necessities at Haig Point, as well as some liquor stores outside of the Haig Point gates on Daufuskie Island, there are no grocery stores. We recommend stopping to grab a few essentials at a grocery store on Hilton Head prior to boarding the ferry. Grocery delivery is available from Hilton Head to Daufuskie but keep in mind that the groceries will have to come over on the ferry and be dropped off via the valet service so anything perishable might not travel well. How do I check-in prior to boarding the ferry?
Answer
We recommend arriving 15-20 minutes before ferry departure. Upon your arrival please visit the Valet Station next to the Welcome Center to drop off your luggage. Tell the Valet attendant your name and the address of your rental home. If you are driving, park your car in the adjacent parking lot or walk over to the Welcome Center. There you will check-in and receive your welcome bag full of goodies and island information, rental home key, and your individual ferry pass. Proceed out the back door to the ferry dock where staff will enter your ferry pass number prior to boarding so keep that number handy. Now sit back and relax for your 30 minute ferry ride to the Haig Point main dock on Daufuskie Island!

What is the ferry pass number?
Answer
The ferry pass number is entered by the Haig Point staff when you board the ferry. We suggest you take a photo of your ferry pass because when you leave and return to Haig Point while exploring the island you will need to enter the number into the keypad at the community gate.

How do I get to my rental home?
Answer
Once you arrive at the main dock on Daufuskie Island, you must proceed to the Cart Barn behind the Strachan Mansion. Your golf cart will be parked outside with your name on the cart. If your golf cart has already been taken to your house by another party member, have them pick you up or request a ride from one of the valets in the Haig Point van. A Haig Point Property Map will be conveniently located on your cart’s steering wheel for easy reference during your stay. Your luggage, which was dropped off at the valet station on Hilton Head, will be brought to your rental home and left on the porch if you aren’t there.

How do I get my luggage to the ferry when it's time to depart?
Answer
When it is time to depart, you can call in advance for luggage pick-up service at (843) 341-8129 or (843) 785-2287. Please call 60 minutes before your ferry departure to allow the valet time to load your luggage onto the boat. Alternately, you can bring your luggage with you when you return the golf cart to the Cart Barn and carry your luggage onto the ferry.
