Getting onto the Naval Base

Please note that since our wedding is on the Newport Naval Base, security is strict. Entry onto the base is limited to the guest list we have provided; you MUST bring your ID with you in order to be allowed onto the base. You may drive onto the base as long as everyone in your vehicle is a listed guest. Uber, Lyft, and other ride shares are not permitted on the base, but can drive you to the gate and you would have to walk to the venue from the gate (about a 10-15 minute walk).

Shuttle to the Newport Officers' Club

Even if you are taking the shuttle, you MUST bring your ID with you in order to get onto the base, as we have provided our guest list ahead of time. To help make things easier (since Lyft/Uber aren't allowed on the base) , we're providing a shuttle for those who want to take it. We’re bringing you back to your childhood with these very fancy yellow school bus shuttles! Shuttles will be available from both The Wayfinder and the Sonesta Select hotel at the following times: The Wayfinder: 4:15pm (departs by 4:30pm) and 4:30pm (departs by 4:45pm) Sonesta Select hotel: 4:30pm (departs by 4:40pm) Shuttles will depart the Newport Officers’ Club at 9:30pm (for those who want to head back early), 10:30pm and 11pm and return to both The Wayfinder and the Sonesta Select hotel.

The group rate for this hotel is $239/night and there is a two night minimum. We will run a shuttle from this hotel to the venue. There is a 72 hour cancellation policy for this hotel, so in the event that COVID-19 has other plans for our wedding, you'll have plenty of time to cancel if needed. This hotel is a bit farther from the venue - about a 20 minute drive - and we will not have a shuttle running, but it's close the beaches and a great option. This hotel is a 3 minute drive to the Sonesta, where the wedding shuttle will run from. The Days Inn has free continental breakfast and an outdoor heated pool. This rate is good until 8/15/21.
