San Diego Zoo

Come visit our world famous zoo! Featuring a brand new panda exhibit. The Zoo is located about 26 minutes south of Encinitas. Nearby downtown San Diego neighborhoods have some of the most wonderful restaurants and Bars!

San Diego Zoo Safari Park

15500 San Pasqual Valley Road, Escondido, CA 92027

Located about 40 minutes east of Encinitas. The Safari Park is larger than the Zoo so there is much more walking. However it houses several animals and their young as it is a breeding park. Trams are available to take you through the large paddock where giraffes, water buffalo, and rhinos live all together. This park also hosts the cheetah run. Nearby the park there are wineries which are worth a visit.

la Jolla Shores Beach

San Diego, CA 92037

La Jolla is great for snorkeling and kayaking tours. Early mornings are the best time for swimming with the leopard sharks; they don't bite but watch out for the stingrays! Goldfish Point is the Bride's favorite spot for swimming. It is located at the base of cliffs of the famous La Jolla Cove is a perfect spot to jump into deep water for a swim with the Garibaldis California state fish and if you are really lucky, Green Sea Turtles. Bring snorkeling gear to get the most out of it. La Jolla's rugged coast line has some wonderful beaches, Restaurants and is home to the children's cove where the seals raise their pups; no touching they will rightfully bite you.

Old Town San Diego

Old town features haunted houses, rustic missions, trinket shops, plenty of Mexican food and of course Tequila and Mezcal tastings.

Balboa Park

San Diego, CA

Built in 1915 the park was created to host the Panama–California Exposition. The park is located next to the zoo, and hosts several museums, gardens, reflection pools, fountains, and the old globe theater company.

Birch Aquarium at Scripps

Where the surf meets the turf down in old Del Mar. The first week in September marks the last week of the track season. Go have some fun betting on the ponies!

SOICHI

Sochi is a Michelin starred Omakase restaurant and one of Meghan's favorite joints in town. This tiny restaurant is located about 30 minutes south of Encinitas and only has 5 table and a bar. Reservations become available this first of every month at 11:00am. Hot tip email them if you are unable to get through.

Mabel's Gone Fishing

Portuguese Family style restaurant know for its Gin and Oysters won the Michelin bib honor. Definitely worth a stop in you are in the downtown area. Reservations become available the first of every month. If you want to stop here, I highly recommend getting a reservation.

All of San Diego's beautiful beaches

Ponto State Beach, Swiams beach and self-realization*, Cardiff State Beach, Stone steps*, Black's cliffs*, Beacons*, Grandview*. Our water is the warmest in September. Surf lessons, sailing and whale watching tours are available through several different companies. Please know that all the beaches with asterixs have tall unstable cliffs. Additionally, we have a lot of stingrays, so just make sure to shuffle.
