If you're seeking a relaxing beach experience, head to Sullivan’s Island Beach. Here you’ll find plenty of relaxing water activities or simply sit and read a book. This oasis is perfect for those wanting a more tranquil atmosphere than nearby Folly Beach can provide. The beach access is marked by white "station" markers, simply follow the street parking instructions and follow the boardwalk out to the beach. If you're hungry we recommend Poe's Tavern, The Obstinate Daughter, or Hometeam BBQ.
Folly Beach is just south of Charleston. Center Street is lined with surf and souvenir shops. Folly Beach County Park has picnic areas and a pelican rookery. As well as beaches and wildlife-rich habitats, Lighthouse Inlet Heritage Preserve has views of Morris Island Lighthouse, completed in 1876. If you're hungry we recommend Taco Boy, Lost Dog Cafe, or Jack of Cups Saloon.
