We're getting married!

We met almost ten years ago while we were serving the Lord on a short term mission-trip in Santa Isabel, Ecuador. Meghan was a scared, soon-to-be doctor, and Julio was a kind, patient interpreter! Little did we know, that working together that week would lead to friendship. And we definitely did not anticipate that ten years later we would be getting married, ready to serve the Lord alongside one another again. Nos conocimos hace casi ten años cuando estábamos sirviendo al Señor en un viaje misionero de corto plazo en Santa Isabel, Ecuador. Meghan era una estudiante que se encontraba asustada de llegar a ser doctora, y Julio era un interprete paciente y amable! Poco que sabíamos, que trabajando juntos esa semana nos llevaría a una amistad. Y definitivamente no anticipamos que diez años después nos estaríamos casándonos, listos para servir al Señor al lado del uno al otro nuevamente.

That morning, we went for a long walk together around Potosí, the first time we had been alone since Julio had arrived in Bolivia. Meghan, thinking this was the moment, was nervously waiting for Julio to get down on one knee, but it never happened. Later that evening we were planning to go out for a nice dinner, so Julio suggested going to the roof to take some pictures of the sunset. Once everyone was ready, we went upstairs to "take pictures" and Meghan found that Julio and their friends had prepared the most beautiful and sweet room, full of flowers and pictures of their relationship over the years. Finally, Julio got down on one knee and Meghan said yes! Esa mañana dimos juntos un largo paseo por Potosí, la primera vez que estábamos solos desde que Julio había llegado a Bolivia. Meghan, pensando que ese era el momento, esperaba nerviosamente que Julio se arrodillara, pero nunca sucedió. Más tarde esa noche planeábamos salir a cenar, así que Julio sugirió ir al techo para tomar algunas fotos de la atardecer. Una vez que todos estuvieron listos, subimos a "tomarnos fotos" y Meghan se encontró con que Julio y sus amigos habían preparado la habitación más linda y dulce, llena de flores y fotos de su relación a lo largo de los años. Finalmente, Julio se arrodilló y Meghan dijo ¡sí!
