How does a guy from Raleigh, North Carolina and a girl from Southern California meet and end up getting married? Honestly, only God could’ve planned this one! Julian grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina and always loved his family beach trips, so choosing UNCW for college was an easy decision. Meanwhile, Meghan grew up in Rancho Santa Margarita, California and dreamed of going somewhere new for college. After a Google search and trip to North Carolina with her mom, she toured UNCW and was sold. Throughout their years at UNCW, they had tons of mutual friends and went to plenty of the same sorority and fraternity events… but somehow never officially met until their very last semester senior year. One night in January 2019, Meghan was at a party, which she later learned was actually at Julian’s house. When Julian walked through the door, they immediately locked eyes and hit it off. The next night Meghan walked into Jimmy’s hoping she might see Julian again… and there he was. They played pool at 22s, grabbed Vito’s, and the rest is history. They graduated and spent another year in Wilmington while Julian finished his Masters and Meghan completed her first year of teaching. During COVID, they made the move to Raleigh and Meghan got Piper, though somehow Julian became Piper’s favorite. They both switched careers along the way: Julian from accounting to sales, and Meghan from teaching to sales. Weekends were filled with NC State tailgates, trips to Asheville, and as many Wilmington beach weekends as they could squeeze in. Life eventually took them in different directions for a time, with Meghan moving back to California and Julian staying in Raleigh. But God wasn’t done with their story! They reconnected, both growing in their faith and in their relationship with each other. Not long after, Julian packed his bags and made the move to California. Today, they live in Dana Point where their days are filled with e-bike rides to Salt Creek Beach, late-night Taco Bell runs, and babysitting their niece and nephew. On November 14th, 2025 Julian proposed at Victoria Beach in Laguna — the first beach Meghan took him to when he visited California for the first time back in 2019. Family and friends were waiting to celebrate afterward. They feel incredibly blessed that God brought them together, and they can’t wait to celebrate with all the people they love in the place that started it all.
