The story according to Chase: The “popular” girl at work (Conner-Emerson School) seemed to make it a point to come say hi to me during lunch every day. Eventually we became friendly enough to move on to text messaging frequently back and forth. After what was probably a four month period of persistently inviting me to hang out with her, I finally gave in. The rest is history. The story according to Meghan: Chase and I met while both working at Conners Emerson. We often found ourselves in the teachers room at the same time. I decided we should hang out outside of school. Chase wanted no part in that. He found me to be too intimidating. (Me, noooo) After a night out with my friends, and Chase telling me he wasn’t doing much. I decided I wasn’t taking no for an answer, not sure who this pushy person was, and finally convinced him to hang out with me. We went for a walk on the shore path and the rest is history.
Naturally, I had every detail of my engagement planned out, I had picked out my own ring, planned the location, the time of day, etc. You know what they say about best laid plans….. We were at the Magic Kingdom, I had planned to get engaged on the best ride at Disney, the people mover. Once we arrived, we went on a few rides, then over to the People Mover, only to find out the ride was closed for the day. Emotionless me, out of nowhere, starts sobbing, I think I traumatized Chase. He did the best he could by buying me sparkly rose gold Minnie ears, and a Mickey ice cream bar. We spent the next hour trying to figure out another “perfect” place, for it to start downpouring. With neither of us being center of attention people, we finally decided on the Haunted Mansion as no one would be around. Chase proposed to me in the dark and instead of saying yes, I immediately grabbed the ring and said “don’t drop it”. Still unsure if I ever said yes….
