Meggie dated several people off and on through college and nothing ever seemed to stick. No one ever sparked enough interest for her to consider staying in Ohio to be with them. Her senior year rolls around and she is 100% convinced that she is moving home to Texas after graduation and that nothing could change her mind. Little did she know... One night Meggie is headed out for a girls night with a sorority sister and they are leaving her apartment building. At the exact same time, a boy walks out of the back door of the restaurant located on the bottom floor of her apartment building and the girls bump into him. Turns out that the sorority sister and Matt knew one another from growing up together at church and school. After a little convincing, Matt decided to join them for drinks. Although he was apprehensive to join, he ended up spending the entire night into the early AM with the girls bar hopping. Meggie and Matt are getting to know one another really well at this point. Meggie immediately thought he was incredibly cute and was very quick to make it known that she was interested. That night was October 2nd, 2015 and they have been together ever since. We celebrate October 2nd as our anniversary because neither of us ever dated anyone else after meeting that night - it was always just the two of us. Meggie decided to stay in Ohio after graduation to pursue this relationship with this boy that she was so head over heels for and the rest is history! Over the years we’ve developed an insanely strong connection and are truly best friends. Our love of family, friends, sports, beer and food (oh yes!) helped us really bond over the years. We’ve been going to FCC games together our entire relationship as well, we love cheering on the blue and orange. But don’t get me wrong…. we are quite opposite at times! He is a homebody and loves video games and enjoying his nights in. Me? I would go out on the town every night with friends if I could! I love making memories at all the fun places around the city with a good cocktail in hand. He’s quiet and reserved and I am about as subtle as a gun and can lack a filter at times. But the beautiful thing about us is that we challenge each other to have balance, try new things and push one another to be the best versions of ourselves. There will always be a deep rooted friendship between us and most importantly, love. Matt ended up proposing to me at my parent’s lake house in Texas on top of the boat dock in front of my family on July 5th, 2021. He knows how much I love and miss home and my family and he made that memory so special for me and us as a newly engaged couple. We cannot wait to share the love we have for one another with all of our friends and family that mean so much to us. We are so grateful that you are all helping us celebrate the start of our lives together - LET'S GET MURPHY'D!
