In March 2019, Joe and Megan met during Megan's senior year and Joe's junior year at Northeastern University. After just 3 months of dating, they had a feeling this could be the real deal! And so, as Megan moved to New York after graduation, they decided to continue their relationship. Although their encounters decreased in frequency, they increased tenfold in importance. Every week or two for a whole year, the couple would hop on an Amtrak to convene in one of their big cities. Each meeting was an excuse to plan special, intentional experiences together. Joe graduated the next year, and Megan was approved to work remotely, so she moved back up to Boston to make sure his apartment stayed in tip-top shape. Fast forward to three apartments later, and Joe is almost completely house-broken. Or rather, he is too broke for a house. More on that later. After over three years together, Joe finally had his chance to pop the question when Megan invited him to visit her on a work trip to her favorite city which she once called home: Brighton, England. Joe bumbled through the planning stages himself in secret, yet somehow pulled it off. Joe, a misinformed gentleman, asked Brian for his daughter’s hand in marriage by driving all the way to New Jersey and surprising him while he was on a conference call (Joe later found out this part did not have to be a surprise). Joe also booked a flight to England separate from Megan’s, because he didn’t know if the ring would have to be taken out of his bag at airport security, and didn’t want to ruin the surprise. On June 11, 2022, while a photographer was in disguise by the Brighton boardwalk’s bandstand, Joe surprised Megan by getting down on one knee. They shared a very special trip together, and returned home as a newly engaged couple. Megan and Joe have spent their relationship constantly growing together. They’ve explored the Boston areas with many walks (and eventually runs) along the Charles, Pure Barre or Orangetheory workouts, and photobooth events. Currently, they continue to travel the world together as they live with Megan’s parents in Emerson, NJ. In fact, this latest move has caused the trips to become more frequent! Megan and Joe are now looking to buy a home to continue building their life and family together. They are so excited to celebrate their love with all of the important people in their lives on October 5, 2024.
