There are several ways to hike up Mt Battie, the State Park directly adjacent to Camden. Our favorite is the Carriage Trail which has a small parking area on Google Maps. For a fee, you can also drive to the tower at the top to get a view of where the mountains meet the sea.
A beautiful preserve with several easy hikes. Surrounded by Lake Megunticook, where Meg, Vince, and Stone regularly paddle around in their kayak.
Meg's favorite hike. Moderately uphill, 2.6 miles in total. Views of the ocean, but off the beaten path.
The sister hike to Bald Mountain. Both can be reached from the same trailhead on Barnestown Rd.

Please be aware that Knox County has the highest incidence of Lyme disease in the country, and as of March we’ve already found several ticks on Stone while hiking. If you’re planning to be in any wooded or grassy areas, please pack your bug spray and do daily tick checks!
