Vince and Meg grew up running track and cross country for competing high schools so they had been acquaintances since they were twelve. Meg always had a bit of a crush on Vince, but had only admired from afar until the summer of 2013 when they ran into each other on Dewey beach. Vince figured chances were slim he would see anyone he knew, so he took the opportunity to wear his Speedo. His hopes were dashed when he realized his umbrella was set up 10 feet behind the Ecker family. Meg was hardly impressed (Vince: "I wasn't trying to impress anybody!"). However, that awkward encounter was the catalyst that prompted Vince to ask Meg to get a drink. Not surprisingly, Meg declined. With some persistence, she did agree to go for a run with him a few weeks later... Fast forward through several years of dating, to when Vince and Meg began traveling the country to pursue Meg's dream of travel physical therapy. On their way from Georgia to Oregon, they stopped to spend a few days in Nashville with Vince's cousin Brian and wife Kate. With the Parthenon as a dramatic backdrop, Vince attempted to propose to Meg among a sea of strangers. Meg, not so easily persuaded, made Vince relocate to a more private setting where Vince successfully proposed and acquired the "Yes!" he desperately sought.
