Summer 2006 in a backyard at a house party Meg's close friends, Kara and Katie Hutsel, were cousins of Van's close friend, Dan Kennedy. Our pathways crossed for but a brief but serendipitous moment before heading off to the West and East coasts, respectively, for college.
May 2012 As Meg and Van were preparing to matriculate to Tulane University School of Medicine in the spring of 2012, Meg realized Van, her long lost high school sweet lax crush, was also going to be attending Tulane that fall and reached out via Facebook messenger to explore the possibility of living together during medical school. Meg wanted to "give it a go" referring to "a co-ed arrangement" stating it was "a bit more of (her) pace". She'd "always loved living" with her former sweet lax crushes implying "it balances the energy". Van unfortunately had decided to move ahead "with a couple other guys". But was "real excited for the next four years" providing her his digits to hit up on the reg. After a month hiatus, Meg reached out hoping her place was "nearby". Van offered his super cool 314 cell phone number and asking, "What are you doing tonight? Wanna try to meet up somewhere?" Which feel on deaf ears
