We met in the late spring of 2018 and fell deeply in love that summer in the mountains, lakes, and rivers of North Idaho. We have continued to love, grow, and learn together through each alpine hike, camping trip, move across state lines, and challenge that we face.
We were camping on a warm, early June evening in the Oregon desert. We had spent the day rock climbing and swimming in a nearby waterfall and river. That evening, the summer sun was setting behind Mt. Hood in the distance. Our dog, Murph, was running around gleefully chasing the last of the daylight. Sitting on the hood of the wagon, I turned on some music and asked Honz to dance. We danced slowly, in pace with the setting of the sun. Honz paused and looked at me. He pulled back, got down on one knee, pulled a ring out of his chest pocket, and said, "I love you. Will you marry me?!". After an exuberant YES, we danced the rest of the night away and cuddled by our campfire under the Oregon stars.
